Lesson 2: Personal Reflection
The reason I chose this picture for the lesson of personal reflection is because this same big smile that I have in this picture is the smile I had reflecting on the year that we had as a class. I think that there is definitely a great deal of worth in personal reflection. Not only does it give a person the chance to find out who they are, it is also an opportunity to see the things that you need to work on. Through my personal reflection in this class, I found that I am more outgoing than I thought I was, I found that I have leadership talents that I did not know I possess, and I found that this class brought out the best in me. I looked forward to this class every week because of the unifying culture that it encouraged. I felt like I was a part of something so great. But through personal reflection, I also learned some of my weaknesses. I learned that I need to work on communication with my peers and the ability to get out of my comfort zone. I learned that when you take that step out of the comfort zone, it is never as bad as it seems. I have heard a quote that my high school math teacher used to say: "Life begins as soon as you get out of your comfort zone." These are all things I have learned through personal reflection.
